History

2016 marks the 30th anniversary of Simmons Media in St. George.

 

From the 1986 purchase of KDXU 890 AM and KZEZ FM 93.5 FM, Craig Hanson and David Simmons went on to acquire and operate 10 radio stations in the St. George Market.

 

In 2003 Simmons Media sold 4 of its stations to Bonneville International Corporation, who subsequently sold them to Cherry Creek Radio.

 

In 2012 Simmons sold it’s interests in 4 of the remaining stations to Canyon Media.

 

In 2014, Craig Hanson purchased 100% of the remaining Simmons stations in St. George and last year acquired Q-102.3 FM from Cochise Broadcasting.

 

MIX 103.1 FM is the home of market favorites Bryan and Cindy, as well as personalities Ryan Seacrest, Dylan Rodgers, and Mario Lopez.

 

K-98.9 FM plays classic hits of the 70’s and 80’s and features Charlie Tuna, Cindy Olson, Chris Robbins, Tom Kent, and Scott Shannon as personalities.

 

Q-102.3 FM is the newest Country station in the market with on air hosts Jon, Justin,

Chantel, Bryan, and Mary.
